Dining with Diabetes - Taste and Learn
Restaurant, take-out and drive-through foods tend to cost more and are most often loaded with calories, salt and fat.
Most foods purchased on the go are also missing two essential food groups: fruits and vegetables.
Join us in the Florida Hospital Diabetes Institute's Trina Hidalgo demonstration kitchen as we explore healthy options for quick meals made at home, and compare the time it takes to prepare the meal, as well as the cost and nutrients. A variety of samples will be served during the demonstration, including options for vegetarians. You can also view videos of past events with recipes to make them at home.
