Dear Potential Research Sponsor,

Thank you for considering the Florida Hospital Diabetes Institute (FHDI) as a clinical site for research protocols.  Since 1993, FHDI has been conducting clinical trials in endocrinology and metabolism with an emphasis on diabetes and related conditions to include hyperlipidemia, obesity and hypertension.  Our experience is in Phase III and Phase IV clinical trials, diabetes technology and device studies, original research protocols.  In collaboration with the University of Florida, we participated in the DPT-1, Oral Insulin and PANDA studies.

The Diabetes Institute is a multi-disciplinary facility incorporating diabetes education, physician fitness and nutrition with consultative clinical care in diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism.  The Diabetes Institute has over 40,000 patient visits a year and serves over 1200 primary care physicians.  The staff includes certified diabetes educators (registered dietitians and nurses) and a certified fitness instructor.  Patients are offered a variety of diabetes options including comprehensive group classes, individual instruction, insulin pump training, and also classes for seniors and those with gestational diabetes, and for Spanish speaking people.

The FHDI has been ranked one of the top 50 Diabetes Centers in the United States by U.S. News and World Report for nine years.  Its database provides the richest source of study volunteers, although we are capable of advertising through various media sources.
