Translational Research Institute
Innovate. Discover. Cure.
Learn about the latest groundbreaking research on three of today’s greatest health issues – obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease – at the Translational Research Institute for Metabolism and Diabetes’ (TRI) new website at www.tri-md.org.
A collaborative effort between Florida Hospital and the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute at Lake Nona, this innovative affiliation brings together brilliant researchers and experienced, caring medical professionals to “translate” scientific discoveries and apply them to everyday life.
Working closely with the Florida Hospital Diabetes Institute, TRI researchers are studying the ORIGINs or “causes” of Type 2 diabetes. Studying those with Type 2 diabetes and those who do not have the disease, researchers hope to identify specific markers that may indicate various “subtypes” of the disease and determine treatments that work best for each “subtype.”
For more information on the ORIGINs trial, visit us at www.TRI-MD.org or call (407) 303-7100 or toll free (877) 854-8475.
