A Pre-eminent Provider of Diabetes Care and Treatment

To fulfill this mission, the Florida Hospital Diabetes Institute (FHDI) is focused on an aggressive vision to be a pre-eminent, nationally-recognized diabetes and endocrine institute delivering comprehensive lifestyle intervention, clinical services, and research to prevent, treat and cure diabetes.

Local and national statistics related to diabetes and the associated costs of care led Florida Hospital to announce the construction of a state of the art Diabetes Institute. This new facility will enable clinicians and professionals to meet the growing demand for nationally recognized care and treatment.

In addition to an expanded and state-of-the-art clinical area, the new Diabetes Institute will feature an education suite that will combine innovative educational opportunities with nationally recognized diabetes education standards to improve the health of those living with diabetes.  Two primary features of the education suite will be a demonstration kitchen and a demonstration shopping zone.  In these spaces, patients and their families will actively participate in classes designed to educate participants on label reading, meal planning and proper nutrition while showing and helping them prepare healthy meals that will significantly impact their quality of life.
